 The Polka Gelato Shop by Vonsung is as chilly as the product it is selling. Challenging traditional ice cream shop designs, this space trades in bright colors for concrete-clad walls. Looking stark and streamlined, this captivating interior stays true to Polka Gelato’s simplistic branding.
Created by the London-based design studio, this minimalist space contrasts its surrounding historic neighbourhood, with its only pops of color coming from the ice cream itself. Designer Joseph Sung explains Vonsung studio’s attempt to create a modern design that corresponds with its location without clashing with it.

With colorful gelato as the space’s vibrant focal point, the Polka Gelato Shop by Vonsung features the use of a single continuous color throughout the space. Displaying a raw aesthetic, the space is reminiscent of Italy’s cobble stone streets.
