Wood Castings pieces of furniture by Hilla Shamia

Presenting a striking combination never seen before, these wood-casted pieces of furniture were created by designer Hilla Shamia. These Wood Castings promise a constant visual of the merger between two splendid materials – wood and aluminum. The reaction between hot aluminum and burnt wood creates a clear boundary between the two elements, combining them into a raw stand-still moment.
This allows the “negative factor of burnt wood” to become a focal point with a deep visual impact. When using this technique of combining aluminum and wood, there is only so much control, the small details being left to natural forces. Melted aluminum invaded every crack it could find, intimately bonding with the burnt wood.

The original tree trunk keeps its shape, but it split between the elements composing the collection. A square silhouette gives off an artificial vibe, while protecting the material it is forever bound to.

The iDesk Concept

The Adam Benton iDesk Concept comes along and any electronic intellect you possessed becomes absolutely amateur.
The iDesk is an insanely creative concept illustrated by the talented graphic designer, that turns a sleek office surface into a massive touchscreen tablet. Benton’s idea would allow you to access the majority of your everyday workspace items as virtual accessories and even sync any iOS device you own just by setting it on top of the table. You could upload different skins to change your decor daily, save all of your files internally, and even set out digital trays to amass documents from other iDesks.
The features of the futuristic Adam Benton iDesk Concept are endless, and for Apple to eventually bring this genius idea to life would be their coolest consumer-pleasing move yet.

Aston Martin Furnitures debut

Aston Martin has impressed just about any style loving individual. Whether it was cars, Drive-Me Home furniture collection, Voyage 55 concept tender, or the Mobiado handsets, it seems the brand name and style quotient is rubbing off on everywhere. The latest product to bear the established brand name of the auto maestro is the luxury office collection furniture, created by the Formatalia Luxury Group. Meant for the premium range of office goers, who have an eye for sophistication combined with modern day sleekness in designs, this furniture brings in pretty much the same thing what the Aston Martin cars would, to its lucky buyers.

For the desks, there is the push button mechanism for opening and closing the drawers for the one that has them (PKU04). The body for this one is mainly aluminum with black leather (night) outer skin. On the other hand, the PKU08 is more simplistic design, with the curved glass top and aluminum frame beneath. The accompanying chair is of course selected matching the color of the table set and rest of the décor. Equally smooth finished on texture, light yet sturdy, these are virtually the must haves for each well-healed executive’s boardroom.

The Volna Table by Nȕvist design

Nȕvist design firm from Turkey presents the Volna Table, a piece out of any ordinary table styles and materials.
Mainly based on the movement on matter, these particular tables are symbols of asymmetry and irregularity. When looking at it, it seems to move and rejects any static design, letting away an impression of softness and visual pleasure. The tables meet some degree of functionality, definitely not a low one, but their main aspects are the purely futuristic looks and technologies used, as well as the modern materials from which they were crafted.

This particular furniture comes in an array of colorations, models and shapes, making it ideal for modern and contemporary offices, while adding a bit of extravagance and exotic to the atmosphere.

The Colima Chairs by Rafael Mayani

The Colima Chairs by Rafael Mayani make many references to Mexico.
A textile pattern, a type of material or a piece’s general shape can all be indicators of its origin, yet few furnishings can boast the abundance of such references, as do these Colima Chairs by Rafael Mayani.
The designer created this set of three seats for Mexico’s pavilion at the World Expo 2012 in Japan. Fitting with the theme of “the Ocean and Coast,” the beautiful state of Colima was selected for ethnic and aesthetic inspiration.

Elaborate weaving techniques, the color integration and the sculptural construction make the loveseat, sofa and single seater bench remarkably unique. The intricate texture, the curving shape and the bright white, pink and red hues represent dancers’ billowing dresses, while the structure of the Colima Chairs by Rafael Mayani takes cues from the monumental petatera bull ring.

Judson Beaumont’s hollow bodied chair

If furniture is taking up too much space at home, Judson Beaumont’s chair is the next best thing that provides additional storage plus a seat.
Judson Beaumont has designed a hollow-bodied chair that’s more than just about design aesthetics; there’s a practicality to it. The lower half of the body is completely empty and offers additional space to hold items. This can fit stuffed toys, books or anything that needs to be put away. The hollow body also gives the armchair the ability to blend in its environment making it complementary to just about any home.

The Ferrari Coffee Table

This is a coffee table containing the compacted remains of a Ferrari inside constructed by designer Charly Molinelli.
He came up with the idea after a customer asked him to design something “a bit special” for their front room.
He then sourced a wreck and built a wooden cabinet on wheels to present to his client – although the price of the swanky piece is unknown.

The French artist said: “It was hard to find a Ferrari that had been crashed hard enough for it to be completely written off.
“As you can imagine it does not happen every day. But with a lot of luck, we did find a garage which had one that we and the customer approved of. It was just right.”
