The Cookoo Watch

The Cookoo Watch improves on the concept set out by the Pebble e-Paper Watch. Like the Pebble Watch, it connects to smartphones (both iPhones and Androids) to provide a more convenient interaction. Although a slightly more low-key creation, the Cookoo Watch boasts Bluetooth 4.0 to ensure less battery drainage and does not require a regular charge.
Named after the cuckoo clocks that alerted people of the hour no matter where they were in a house, the Cookoo Watch does that with emails, tweets, texts and missed calls on phones. It also acts as a remote trigger for the phone’s camera, one button check-in device and lost phone finder. It was conceived by Peter Hauser.

Wood Castings pieces of furniture by Hilla Shamia

Presenting a striking combination never seen before, these wood-casted pieces of furniture were created by designer Hilla Shamia. These Wood Castings promise a constant visual of the merger between two splendid materials – wood and aluminum. The reaction between hot aluminum and burnt wood creates a clear boundary between the two elements, combining them into a raw stand-still moment.
This allows the “negative factor of burnt wood” to become a focal point with a deep visual impact. When using this technique of combining aluminum and wood, there is only so much control, the small details being left to natural forces. Melted aluminum invaded every crack it could find, intimately bonding with the burnt wood.

The original tree trunk keeps its shape, but it split between the elements composing the collection. A square silhouette gives off an artificial vibe, while protecting the material it is forever bound to.

Kisai Uzumaki Analog Watch

Adding extra function to a classic timepiece, Tokyoflash Japan has created the Kisai Uzumaki Analog Watch that beams with color. Watches are made to tell time, but are also pieces of art wrapped around the wrist.
The Kisai Uzumaki looks like a whirling vortex of colors. It features a luminous display, bright EL backlighting and reads time like a conventional analog timepiece. The name ‘Uzumaki’ is the Japanese word for whirlpool, hence its swirling design concept.
The colorful swirls aren’t just for aesthetics, they indicate the time in analog format so that a quick glance at the watch will give the time. It’s perfect for night or dark places where there’s no need to squint to tell the hour of day while time is ticking away. The hours are placed on the outside while the minutes are indicated in the inside.
The Kisai Uzumaki is 100% stainless steel and is available in black or silver with blue or green as the display.

The Viktor & Rolf ‘Top Belt Jumpsuit’

The Viktor & Rolf ‘Top Belt Jumpsuit’ takes the concept of high-wasted bottoms to a whole new level. The off-white one piece builds on the length of pants, extending them from the lower half of the female body to the very top. The detachable belt covers the upper width of the design, allowing for custom adjustments based on size and desired look.
This full-length piece provides a twist on the classic dress pant style. Many women pair them at business and gala events with chiffon blouses, effectively eliminating pant-only options. The Amsterdam fashion label has turned this norm on its head via the wool-based strapless design, sure to attract fashionistas from all over the world who wish to do away with chic norms.

The Bugatti Wei Long Year of the Dragon Edition

The Bugatti Wei Long Year of the Dragon edition Grand Sport model was amongst the premium lot unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show, also carrying a premium price tag of $2.09 million (€1.58 million). However, the one shown at the event remains a one-off piece, making it yet another exclusive edition after the Visette series, L’o’Blanc Porcelain edition, and the ‘Sang Blanc’ version, which were all unique faces of this supercar.
Offering a 987 HP output power from the 8-liter W16 machine, the Grand Sport Year of the Dragon Bugatti can now declare far and wide, about an optimum speed of over 400 km/ph.

The reason this collector’s item got the attention at the event was the aesthetics, which the company redrafted the car in, with the collaboration of Königliche Porzellan Manufaktur. With porcelain being the new fabric of choice with the Bugatti designers, this special edition has been given the body of the same fabric in white color, whereas the interiors have been given a vibrant red coloring, but with special Dragon motifs all around. However, one will also notice the carmine red with the brake calipers of the 20-inch alloy wheels of the car.
