Piaggio P.180 Avanti II aircraft becomes an Art piece

Renowned Italian sculptor, painter and printmaker Mimmo Paladino has become perhaps the first to turn a private jet into a work of art with the installation of a painted Piaggio P.180 Avanti II aircraft at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan.

Paladino decorated the turboprop with ancestral symbols, constellations and geometrical designs in homage to the skies in which it travels. The “Cacciatore di Stelle” is part of the “anthological and personal” exhibition of Paladino’s work hosted by the Palazzo Reale. The whole exposition dedicated to Paladino takes place along a 500 meters path, which makes it the longest display dedicated to a contemporary artist.

The “Cacciatore di Stelle ” will be displayed in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan from March 28th to April 28th 2011.

The $60 million Gulfstream G550 private jet

Spain-based industrial designer Stefan Radev has given the $60 million Gulfstream G550 private jet a makeover, including cool iPad controls à la P. Diddy's Solemates superyacht. From the exterior livery to the seating arrangements, Radev's design scheme is simple, elegant and ergonomic. It's also full of eco-friendly touches like bamboo woodwork.

Natural light is emphasized in the airy interior design with oversized oval-shaped windows and neutral tones complementing the bamboo in an open-plan layout equally suited to working or lounging.

iPads and iPods also control the various climate and entertainment functions for the passengers.
