Volkswagen’s “People’s Car Project”

Volkswagen invited the people of China to submit their best design ideas, and they now have three concepts to show for it. A Hover Car, a Music Car and a Smart Key concept were unveiled at the 2012 China Auto Show, the result of Volkswagen’s “People’s Car Project.” Launched last year, the initiative asked users to log onto a website and submit ideas that could be discussed with others, in what the German described as “mass manufacturing.” 33 million page views and 119,000 submissions later, the “People’s Car Project” will be extended indefinitely, Volkswagen announced.

The Hello Kitty Dreams Restaurant


The Hello Kitty Dreams Restaurant has opened in Beijing, China, and is themed after the iconic Japanese cartoon, which made its first appearance in 1974. The restaurant, which has been fully booked over the last few weeks, comprises pretty pink furniture and decor, with everything from its tables to its walls covered in Hello Kitty images. Even the restaurant’s food, desserts and drinks are themed after the cute cat.

The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai ‘Best Hotel In The World’ 2011




The readers of Condé Nast Traveler magazine in the U.S. have named The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong, China the ‘Best Hotel In The World’ in its 24th annual Readers Choice Awards for 2011.
Two top awards were bestowed upon the hotel in one evening, Best Hotel in Asia Pacific, and then Overall Best Hotel in the World.
The Conde Nast Readers Choice Awards are derived from the Condé Nast Traveler Readers Choice Survey.

Limited edition Porsche 911 Turbo S only for China



Porsche is celebrating its 10th year in the Chinese market by introducing a super-sleek special edition Porsche Turbo S. Only 10 units of this exclusive edition will be produced, priced at 3,488,000 RMB, or approximately $540,000. 
The brand new Porsche 911 Turbo S 10 Year Anniversary Edition sports a stunning Gold Bronze Metallic exterior paint job with super-attractive contrasting detail done in matte carbon and slick high-gloss black on the 19″ Sport Classic wheels.
The Porsche’s aerodynamics will see a boost via an Aerokit front spoiler, front lid, and black matte carbon fiber exterior mirrors. Additionally, each special edition model will be identified by a unique number which is exhibited on the right side wheel arch.
The car’s interior is a fitting tribute to Porsche’s motorsport heritage, combining striking black leather with carbon inserts and beautiful Alcantara, also showcasing black instrument dials with gold accents.
In addition to the luxury car brand’s unveiling of the Turbo S 10 Year Anniversary model, Porsche is set to open three new Porsche Centers in Taizhou, Zhengzhou, Haikou, and Chengdu Airport. The marque will also host various events across the country, celebrating its 10th year in China.
Sales of the new Porsche 911 Turbo S 10 Year Anniversary Edition are expected to begin in June 2011.
