Art Street by El Seed
El Seed is a Tunisian street artist born in France. He creates large-scale pieces in Paris that showcase the art of Arabic calligraphy on his native city’s walls.
He speaks about his role as an Arabic artist who is trying to make it in a Western-dominated art world. The street artist is inspired by Arabic calligraphy and he uses his art to express his social condition, his feelings and his beliefs.
El Seed aims to make a social commentary about France’s political system with an emphasis on immigrant acceptance. He discusses what fed his desire to get back to his roots and how he ultimately learned about his history and culture. The artist’s work is always about a quest of identity and aims to promote Arab culture and Arab art. El Seed hopes to break down common Arab stereotypes and misconceptions portrayed by the media and society.
